Maintenance Custodian

Summary: Goldey-Beacom College Facilities Department is currently accepting applications for a Full-time Maintenance Custodian.   The holder of this position will support the Lead Custodian during assigned shifts.

Key Functions/Responsibilities/Tasks:

  • Disinfecting of classroom chairs, desks white boards and other classroom furniture to ensure a healthy learning environment
  • Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms in accordance with established practices and procedures
  • Sweeping, mopping, and/or vacuuming hallways and stairways, emptying and cleaning ash trays and cigarette receptacles, cleaning windows, and wiping down walls
  • During inclement weather, candidate must be able to report to campus to clear walkways of snow and clean up during snowstorms.

Reports To: Lead Custodian

Department: Facilities

Position Category: Staff – Full-Time

Months per Year: 12

Hours per Week: 37.5; evenings and weekend coverage will be required.

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Faculty Opportunities

Assistant or Associate Professor of Sports Management

Goldey-Beacom College invites applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor of Sports Management. We seek a visionary educator with a strong background in program development to lead and grow our undergraduate Sports Management offerings. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape a dynamic curriculum to emphasize both academic excellence and hands-on learning experiences, preparing students for successful careers in the field.

Position Type: Full-time, beginning August 2025

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, deliver, and assess undergraduate courses in Sports Management, ensuring relevance and rigor across all content areas.
  • Mentor students, creating a community of scholars in the field.
  • Lead the development of a comprehensive Sports Management program that integrates theoretical knowledge with practical, experiential learning opportunities.
  • Establish partnerships with industry to support internships, practicums, and other hands-on learning experiences for students.
  • Participate in department and college assessment activities and contribute to program accreditation processes, if applicable.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a master’s degree is required. A terminal degree in Sports Management, Sports Administration, or a closely related field is preferred; ABD, anticipated dissertation defense, and extensive industry experience will be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development of Sports Management programs at both undergraduate and graduate levels is highly desirable.
  • A record of excellence in teaching, with aptitude in the range of learning modalities.
  • A commitment to curriculum innovation and experiential learning, preparing students for diverse roles within the sports industry.
  • Knowledge of or experience with accreditation and assessment practices is highly desirable.

Qualifications for the Associate Professor level:

  • Must currently hold the Associate Professor rank.
  • At least five (5) years of full-time teaching experience at a 4-year College or University.
  • Proven Excellence in teaching.
  • Proven excellence in scholarship.

Salary Range for Assistant Professor is $75,000 – $80,000

Salary Range for Associate Professor is $80,000 – $90,000

Assistant or Associate Professor of Communication and Media

Goldey-Beacom College seeks an enthusiastic and innovative Assistant/Associate Professor of Communication and Media to join our faculty. This individual will play a vital role in enhancing and expanding our Communication and Media program, preparing students for dynamic careers in media, journalism, public relations, digital communication, and related fields.

Position Type: Full-time, beginning August 2025

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach undergraduate courses in Communication and Media, delivering engaging, high-quality instruction that aligns with the latest industry trends.
  • Lead and contribute to the growth and development of the Communication and Media program, fostering innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Participate in department and college assessment activities and, if applicable, support accreditation efforts.
  • Collaborate with faculty across disciplines to promote a rich learning environment and interdisciplinary opportunities for students.
  • Work with the College’s Career Services Office to establish internship and experiential learning opportunities for students.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to develop and advise the College’s student-run media operations.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a master’s degree is required. A terminal degree in Communication, Media Studies, Journalism, Public Relations, or a closely related field is preferred. Consideration will be given to applicants with ABD, an upcoming dissertation defense, and extensive media experience.
  • Proven experience desired in program development and a demonstrated ability to grow and enhance academic programs in Communication and Media.
  • Commitment to teaching excellence in a range of modalities, and an interest in curriculum development to ensure students are academically prepared and career-ready.
  • Knowledge of or experience with accreditation standards and assessment practices is highly desirable.

Qualifications for the Associate Professor level:

  • Must currently hold the Associate Professor rank.
  • At least five (5) years of full-time teaching experience at a 4-year College or University.

Assistant or Associate Professor of Human Services

Goldey-Beacom College seeks a dedicated and innovative Assistant or Associate Professor of Human Services to join our growing faculty. The successful candidate will play a key role in the development and coordination of the Human Services program, contributing to a collaborative and student-centered academic community.

Position Type: Full-time, beginning August 2025

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach undergraduate courses in Human Services with a commitment to high-quality, engaging instruction.
  • Coordinate internships and practicum experiences for Human Services and Psychology majors, establishing and maintaining relationships with community partners to support students’ practical learning.
  • Actively participate in program development and growth efforts to meet the evolving needs of students and the field.
  • Collaborate with faculty across departments to enhance interdisciplinary learning opportunities.
  • Contribute to department, college, and program-level assessment activities and accreditation processes, if applicable.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a master’s degree is required. A terminal degree in Human Services, Social Work, Counseling, or a closely related field is preferred; ABD, anticipated dissertation defense, and extensive industry experience with social work will be considered.
  • Proven experience coordinating internships or practicum placements within a Human Services or similar program.
  • Demonstrated experience in program development, with a strong interest in growing a Human Services curriculum that aligns with industry needs.
  • A commitment to teaching excellence and fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment.
  • Experience or knowledge of accreditation standards and assessment processes is highly desirable.
  • Background in assessment, including curriculum design and outcome evaluation.

Qualifications for the Associate Professor level:

  • Must currently hold the Associate Professor rank.
  • At least five (5) years of full-time teaching experience at a 4-year College or University.
