2024-25 Undergraduate Student Budget

Undergraduate budgets are nine-month budgets, which reflect enrollment in the fall and spring semesters.

Notes:

  1. Tuition costs for undergraduate students are 30 credit hours of enrollment multiplied by $493 per credit hour.
  2. All full-time undergraduate students enrolled in a degree-seeking program are charged a $75 student engagement fee in the fall and spring semesters.
  3. The standard on-campus board plan for a residential student is $4,500. Additional board plans are available at a higher price. Off-campus students are allotted a food allowance based on their living arrangements.
  4. On-campus students have an additional food allowance for purchasing three meals a day on the weekend, as the on-campus dining hall only offers brunch and dinner.
  5. Transportation allowance is $40 per week multiplied by 36 weeks.
  6. Miscellaneous allowance for personal expenses is $54 per week multiplied by 36 weeks.
  7. An average undergraduate student will incur approximately $56 in federal student loan fees.
  8. Direct charges (tuition, fees, and room and board) on a student’s account may differ from the total cost of attendance calculations. Financial aid administrators can adjust the cost of attendance allowances on a case-by-case basis. Documentation is necessary when making a cost of attendance allowance adjustment.

  3. A financial aid administrator may use professional judgment to adjust a student’s allowance on the cost of the attendance budget. You may need to submit documentation to receive a professional judgment decision.
  4. Food & Housing for students living off-campus with family is calculated by dividing the monthly component amount by four and multiplying that figure by 9. Housing is calculated by dividing $1,495 by 4, which equals $374 (rounded up), and multiplying that figure by nine months. Food is calculated by dividing $370 by 4, which equals $93 (rounded up), and multiplying that figure by nine months.
  5. Tuition reflects $448 per credit hour tuition charge for standard 30-credit hours enrollment.
  6. Books and supplies estimate is for standard 30-credit hours enrollment.
  7. For on-campus students, the food category’s figure of $3,960 represents the standard (minimum) board plan option. Other board plans are available and upon request may be manually added to the student’s cost of attendance budget.
  8. Miscellaneous category is a $53 per week allowance (for 36 weeks) for expenses such as clothing, personal items, laundry, entertainment, etc.
  9. Transporation category is a $39 per week allowance (for 36 weeks) for transporation expenses.
