Wilmington, DE – Goldey-Beacom College proudly announces that Dr. Erin Lee Kelly, Associate Professor of Psychology, has been awarded a prestigious Fulbright Specialist Award for the 2024–2027 tenure. Selected by the U.S. Department of State and the Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board, Dr. Kelly joins a distinguished roster of U.S. academics and professionals committed to fostering international collaboration and expertise.
The Fulbright Specialist Program provides U.S. experts with opportunities to partner with institutions in over 150 countries to address critical global issues. Specialists participate in short-term projects lasting two to six weeks, focusing on curriculum development, faculty training, institutional planning and more. Dr. Kelly’s work will center on advancing global knowledge and training in the field of human sexuality.
“As a Fulbright Specialist, I am eager to collaborate with host institutions to achieve their unique project goals,” said Dr. Kelly. “Through teaching and curriculum development, I aim to address the critical need for research-based education on human sexuality—a topic often overlooked but essential for faculty, counselors and communities worldwide. By sharing expertise and learning from global partners, I hope to enhance understanding and create lasting impact.”
Dr. Kelly, a leading scholar in human sexuality and therapist transference, plans to develop curricula and training programs for educators and therapists to improve their competence in this field. Her work will emphasize the psychological, historical and cultural dimensions of human sexuality, fostering deeper understanding across diverse educational and community settings.
Dr. Kelly is one of over 400 U.S. citizens annually selected for the Fulbright Specialist Program based on academic and professional excellence, leadership, and potential to foster cross-cultural collaboration.
