Delaware has a humid and temperate climate
throughout the year. The average daily temperature
in the northern part of the state is about 54 ºF (12
ºC), ranging from an average high of 86 ºF (30 ºC)
in July to an average low of 23 ºF (-5 ºC) in
January.
Southern Delaware enjoys temperatures that run
about two degrees higher. Temperatures along the
Atlantic Coast are usually a few degrees warmer in
winter and a few degrees cooler in summer.
August, which has the second hottest temperatures
after July, is also the rainiest month, with an
average precipitation of about 5.5 inches (140 mm),
and February has the least precipitation, an average
of almost 3 inches (76 mm).
Average annual precipitation is approximately 45
inches (1,143 mm). About 57% of the days are sunny.
