Resident Assistants

The Resident Assistant is a paraprofessional, undergraduate or graduate student staff member of the Housing & Residence Life Program. The resident assistants are directly supervised by the Coordinator and Assistant Coordinator of Housing & Residence Life. The Resident Assistant plays a vital role in facilitating an atmosphere of community, facilities, and crisis management within the residence halls.

Through a rewarding instructional, pre-service, and on going in-service training program, resident assistants acquire the knowledge to foster a healthy and positive living learning community. These experiences are necessary in fostering an environment, which is conducive to the academic, social, and personal needs and fulfillment of each of his/her residents.

This leadership position provides the Resident Assistant with the unique opportunity to further develop personal self-awareness and interpersonal communication skills that are vital for success in all facets of life.
