The Alumni’s big plans for a great night at the ballpark on August 19, 2011 were washed away by torrential rains. Some of the guests braved the elements and enjoyed refreshments while waiting for the game to be called. If you had tickets for the game, they are good for one year. Just check with the Blue Rocks and exchange them for tickets to a game next season up until August 19, 2012. Never daunted by Mother Nature, the Alumni Board of Directors plans to try again next summer. Information will be posted as soon as it’s available.

Alumni Beef ‘n B.Y.O.B./Silent Auction Fundraiser
Watch for our 2013 dates soon.
The Peden Family digs in. Alumni Board members Ron Bevan and Jen Iqbal look like they've got the winning bid. Katie Leopardi and Jen Iqbal show their 50/50 sales success.

Next year's big night will be here before we know it. The Alumni Board of Directors plans an evening filled with food, fun, games and friendly bidding.

It’s all to raise money for the alumni scholarship and student services. You’ll be a big help to students while enjoying a friendly night of fun and games.  And speaking of games, try your luck at the "Wine Bottle Ring Toss Game," the "Balloon Pop Game," and others.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO HELP?
DO YOU need some advertising or exposure for your business, service, craftsmanship or hidden talent?

As an alumnus, you can donate a gift or service to the Silent Auction, and you'll receive tax consideration, marketing exposure and the gratitude and admirations of your fellow alumni and students.  Spread the word.  If you have relatives or friends who would like to donate as well, that would be great.  The Alumni Board is always accepting items and serviced for the Silent Auction.  Please email or call Gary L. Wirt at wirtgl@gbc.edu or 302-225-6273.

Who knows what treasures will entice you in 2013!

Guests carefully consider their bids.
Guests enjoy their meal before the games begin. In the background would-be bidders strategize while others enjoy the company of friends.

"Drives for Education Golf Outing" is in the Works for Spring, 2013

The familiar faces are becoming more like old friends at the Goldey-Beacom Alumni Association's "Drives for Education" Golf Outing.

Alumni and friends are sharpening their skills for another great day on the links!  Whether you’re a serious golfer or someone who enjoys a nice, long walk while hitting a little white ball, this is the outing for you!

Nothing fancy here.  Just a great way to raise funds for the alumni scholarship.

New Alumni Admissions Ambassadors Wanted

The Goldey-Beacom College Admissions Department and the Alumni Relations Office are collaborating on a new venture to engage alumni with prospective students. GBC Alumni can register as Admissions' Ambassadors. As needed, these volunteers will attend college fairs in their area and contact interested students with a phone call or email. Alumni Ambassadors could even "adopt a high school" and become Goldey-Beacom's local voice in their community. Training materials and recruitment information will be provided.

The purpose of the Alumni Admissions Ambassador Program is to enhance Goldey-Beacom College's admission recruitment activities in coordination with the College admissions officers. It is a program that allows Goldey-Beacom to reach beyond the geographic and chronological parameters of admission staff coverage and at the same time to personalize contact with more potential students.

Our alumni can play a significant role in attracting bright, talented young men and women to our community of scholars at Goldey-Beacom. Those who have experienced what Goldey-Beacom has to offer can make a critical impact by counseling prospective students and parents about their choices in higher education.

If you'd like to learn more about the Alumni Admissions Ambassador program, please contact the Alumni office at 302-225-6273.
