  • Where is Goldey-Beacom College?

    • Goldey-Beacom College is located in the Pike Creek Valley suburb of Wilmington, Delaware.  Our safe, suburban campus is 8 miles from the city of Wilmington, half an hour from Philadelphia, and centrally located between New York City and Washington, DC.

  • Who attends GBC?

    • The annual enrollment is approximately 1,600 students including traditional day students, part- time evening students and students in the masters programs. GBC students come from 19 states and over 60 nations.

  • What majors does Goldey-Beacom College offer?

    • Goldey-Beacom College offers bachelor degrees in psychology, criminal justice, English, economics, and all areas of business. Business students may also choose associate or masters degrees. Students can select from such majors or concentrations as Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Management, Human Resource Management, Marketing, Information Technology, Sports Management, Health Care Management, Legal Studies, Organizational Psychology, and International Business, to name a few.

  • What degree programs are offered?

    • Goldey-Beacom offers Associate, Bachelor and Masters degrees. All are regionally accredited. 

  • What are the requirements to be admitted to GBC? 

    • Every application for admission is reviewed individually. The flexible admissions evaluation at GBC is an academic review.  Consideration is given to grade point average, test scores, and class rank, but personal growth, improvement and motivation are also considered in determining admission.

  • What is the average class size?

    • Class sizes vary from freshman to senior year, but unlike other colleges and universities, Goldey-Beacom has no lecture halls that hold hundreds of students.  Even the most popular classes at GBC seldom have more than 45 to 50 students.

  • What kind of help is available for students?

    • The College operates the Academic Resource Center staffed by professional and peer tutors who assist students in areas such as English, mathematics and computers. In addition, each faculty member is expected to maintain 15 office hours per week to be available to help students.

  • Are there internship opportunities?

    • Through the Office of Career Services, students can find a myriad of internship opportunities to get a head start in their careers. Each year we sponsor an on-campus internship fair designed to match companies with students who are seeking internship experience. Over the past several years students have secured internships at sites as varied as Bank of America and Delaware Today magazine.

  • Who will help me find a job while in school or upon graduation?

    • The Office of Career Services assists students and graduates in securing full and part time positions. The staff of Career Services maintains a library of current job opening, arranges   on-campus recruitment, assists students in resume preparation, coordinates two on-campus Career Fairs each year and can assist students with College Central, the College’s online career and placement service.  Over the past 10 years, the College has recorded a placement rate for its graduates exceeding 90% within weeks of graduation.

  • Is financial aid available for all students?

  • Does Goldey-Beacom College have a sports program?

    • Goldey-Beacom is a member of the NCAA, competing at Division II level in all sports including:  Men’s and Women’s soccer, Men’s and Women’s basketball, Men’s and Women’s cross country, Women’s softball and volleyball, Men’s golf and Women's tennis. As a Division II program, students who participate may be eligible for athletic scholarships.

  • Does Goldey-Beacom College have residence halls available for all students?

    • Goldey-Beacom maintains four residence halls for students who choose to live on campus.  All of the residence halls are garden-style apartments that house 4 or 5 students.  Most apartments have 2 bedrooms, living area, kitchen, and 1 1/2 or 2 bathrooms. All apartments are fully furnished, air-conditioned, include all utilities, and have internet access through the College’s wireless network.

  • What makes GBC different?

    • First, and foremost, Goldey-Beacom provides a high level of personalized attention. We are a school where you get to know people – and they get to know you!  In addition, our career focus assures our students that they will be well-prepared to enter the workforce upon graduation.
